The new decade is here and with that comes more new businesses in Sacramento! The old City of Trees has developed into the new foodie Farm to Fork capital of California over the last decade, and it’s amazing to see all of the new businesses popping up.

I love pretty much any kind of food, but if you know me, I have a special love for Korean BBQ. So naturally, I’m most excited for the new Korean BBQ and hot pot concept opening up in Elk Grove. It’s still in its early stages, and doesn’t even have a name yet, but I know I’ll be one of the first customers in line! While we wait for that place to open, you can probably find me over at Daikon Korean BBQ, which will be opening in the new year over at Delta Shores. All you can eat, how you can go wrong?!

Seafood seems to be another theme of 2020. We have two new seafood spots opening up mid-year, including Shell Shock Seafood House in Arden-Arcade and Hook and Reel Seafood in South Sacramento. We could definitely use some more fresh seafood around! I love restaurants where you can customize your sauces and spice levels, so I’m eager to check these places out.

The Ice Blocks on R Street keeps growing more and more every year, and they have a lot more in store for us. Curry Up Now is expected to finally open in January, so we’ll have a new fast casual option in the area. In addition to that, the much anticipated Shake Shack will be arriving, so be prepared to wait in those long lines for those ooey gooey cheeseburgers and loaded milkshakes….it’s well worth the wait, might I add!

All these new places have me getting hungry already just thinking about it! Cheers to a new year and a new decade, and may your stomachs be filled with yummy food and drinks!
